Cool winds, however, blew right through the day keeping the mercury below normal.

Today's maximum was recorded at a notch below the normal, while the minimum was registered at 7.3 degrees Celsius, which is normal for this period of time, the MeT department said.

Clear sky came as a pleasant surprise for Delhiites after yesterday's heavy rains and hailstorm which had hit the vehicular movement and power supply in many areas of the city.

The rain gauges measured 12.5mm of rain in the last 24 hours, it said.

Yesterday, the minimum was recorded at 11.3 degrees Celsius, four degrees above normal.

The Weatherman has forecast clear sky with fog in the morning. The maximum and minimum temperatures would be around 17 and six degree Celsius respectively, the MeT department added.
