The sun came out to chase the early morning fog cover prevailing in the city in the early hours even as the mercury rose a few notches to settle at 7 degrees Celsius.
The minimum temperature recorded yesterday was 6.4 degrees Celsius, three notches below normal.
"It was dense fog in the morning, with Palam observatory registering visibility at 300 m. There was no rainfall recorded overnight," a MeT Department official said.

At 6 am, as many as 10 north-bound trains stood cancelled, 35 were running late while five were rescheduled, a senior railway ministry official said.
The minimum recorded at other weather stations are -- Lodhi Road (6.7 degrees Celsius), Palam (6.7), Ayanagar (8.4) and Ridge (8.6).
The weatherman has forecast mainly clear skies tomorrow with dense fog in the morning.
"The maximum and minimum temperatures tomorrow would be around 24 and 10 degrees Celsius, respectively," the official said.
