"Gilmore Girls" writer Jessica Queller and "Dallas" writer Robert Rovner are promoted to co- showrunners on CW's series "Supergirl".

The duo has been hired for the shows's season three following the departure of Ali Adler, reported Deadline.

Adler served as co-showrunner for the first two seasons of the DC Comics-inspired series. She, however, will remain involved as an executive consultant on "Supergirl".

Queller and Rovner will join Andrew Kreisberg in the new showrunner team. Kreisberg, who co-created the series along with Adler and Greg Berlanti, has also served as executive producer since the beginning of the show featuring Melissa Benoist.

Production on the third season will begin later this summer for an October 9 premiere on The CW.
