Supplementary Demands for Grants of Rs 1.12 lakh cr notified

Government has notified the third and final batch of Supplementary Demands for Grants for the current fiscal entailing a gross additional expenditure of over Rs 1.12 lakh crore.

The net cash outgo, however, will be only Rs 27,770.33 crore. The rest will be matched by savings of the Ministries/ Departments or by enhanced receipts/recoveries aggregates.

The current financial year ends on March 31.

"...Parliament has passed the Supplementary Demands for Grands, 2015-16 (March, 2016). The connected Appropriation Bill, 2016 has also been passed by Parliament and assented to by the President of India on March 25, 2016 and the corresponding Act has been published in the Gazette of India...," the Finance Ministry said.
 

Of the Rs 1.12 lakh crore, Rs 69,575.47 crore is for subscription to International Monetary Fund for Quota increase.

As per the Demands for Grants document, Rs 5,050 crore is towards meeting additional expenditure on recapitalisation of public sector banks.

Further, the Demands also include refund of upfront charges of BWA spectrum to BSNL (Rs 3,340.5 crore) and MTNL (Rs 428.95 crore). It also include Rs 77.55 crore towards "settlement of pending dues to Pakistan Telecom Company Limited".
