Supplementary Grant for the financial year 2014-15 was today tabled in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly here amidst din by the Opposition over law and order situation and state advisory price (SAP) for sugarcane.

As soon as the House assembled at 11 AM, Opposition parties, including Bahujan Samaj Party, Bharatiya Janata Party, Rashtriya Lok Dal, Congress and the teachers' group stormed into the well displaying banners and raising anti-government slogans.

Chairman Ganesh Shanker Pandey requested the members to maintain order and subsequently adjourned the House for half an hour and later extended it to 12 noon.

The members re-assembled at 12 noon to a repeated din forcing the chairman to adjourn the House again till 12.20 PM.

The government tabled the Supplementary Grants at 12.30 PM as the proceedings of the House began amidst an uproar by the opposition.

Later the Chairman adjourned the House for the day.

Talking to the reporters during adjournment BSP leader Naseemuddin Siddiqui alleged that there was complete 'jungleraj' in the state against which the entire opposition protested inside the House.

He said that the SAP of sugarcane has not been hiked by the government, which he alleged has struck a deal with the sugar mill owners.

Siddiqui said that during BSP's tenure in power, cane price was hiked from Rs 122 per quintal to Rs 250 per quintal.

Leader of BJP Legislature Party in Legislative Council Hriday Narain Dixit alleged that there was complete anarchy in the state.

"We demanded a debate on the issue of law and order as people in UP are feeling insecure," he said.

The teachers group raised the issue of regularisation of adhoc teachers.

"The Chief Minister had promised in December last year that adhoc teachers will be regularised, but it has not been done so far," member of teachers group Jagveer Kishore Jain said.
