Supporters of NCP MP from Satara, Udayan Raje Bhosale and his MLA cousin Shivendrasinh Bhosale, also from NCP, clashed over the control of a local toll plaza on the Pune-Kolhapur Highway near the western Maharashtra city in the wee hours today, the police said.
According to Satara police, the incident occurred after Udayan Raje Bhosale reached Shivendrasinh Bhosale's house in the city along with his supporters late last night, triggering a clash.
Two rounds were fired by an unidentified person during the violence. Stones were hurled and several vehicles were also damaged, the police said.

At the centre of the clash of egos of the two Bhosales is the Anewadi toll plaza near Satara, which was controlled by one of the supporters of Udayan Raje Bhosale.
However, the private company which owns it recently decided to hand over its control to another person, belonging to Shivendra Raje Bhosale's camp.
The Bhosale cousins have been at loggerheads since the past few months after they fielded their independent panels during the municipal council elections, which were ultimately won by Udayanraje, a direct descendant of Chhatrapati Shivaji.
"On Thursday night, Udayan Raje reached the toll plaza, where the company was slated to complete the formalities of handing its operation to the other party. A heavy police bandobast was deployed at the plaza in order to avoid any law and order situation," said the officer.
He said the NCP MP then left the toll plaza in the mid-night and instead of going to his residence, he headed towards Shivendrasinh's house along with his supporters.
"The situation is under control now and police bandobast is stepped up in the city," said the officer.
No arrests are made so far.
In July this year, the NCP MP was arrested in a case of alleged extortion and attempt to murder the owner of a manufacturing unit.
