Supporters of 'united' Andhra Pradesh offer prayers at temple

Samaikhyandhra Porate Samithi activists, supporting a "united" Andhra Pradesh, offered prayers at a temple here to keep the state intact and "change the mindset" of the Congress high command.

A large number of activists gathered at the Sampath Vinayaka temple, broke 101 coconuts and offered prayers in the temple. They demanded that the Congress high command should not bifurcate the Andhra Pradesh.

Meanwhile, the Students' Joint Action Committee organised a rally at the Andhra University led by its convenor Lagudu Govinda and staged a sit-in demonstration in front of the university main gate and burnt effigies of legislators from Seemaandhra region.
