Surajkund fair records a footfall of over 15 lakh visitors

The fortnight-long Surajkund International Crafts Mela concluded today with over 15 lakh people visiting the annual fair.

"The Mela recorded a footfall of more than 15 lakh this year," Tourism Minister Ram Bilas Sharma said.

Haryana Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki, who attended the mela, and said the mega event has given a distinct identity to the state at international level with the participation of 23 countries this year.

Solanki also felicitated several craftsmen with awards.

He said the crafts mela promotes the cultural heritage of Haryana by providing a platform to hundreds of domestic and international artisans.

Expressing gratitude towards Haryana government for making Telangana the theme state of the mela, Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari announced that a similar mela will soon be organised in the southern state.
