Speaking out for the first time after a big shake up in his ministry, Union minister Suresh Prabhu today indicated that he suggested the name of Ashwani Lohani as Railway Board Chairman to the prime minister.
"Welcoming @AshwaniLohani and Thanks to PM for agreeing with suggestion to have him to steer rail board to implement launched initiatives," tweeted Prabhu.
The Railway Ministry had yesterday appointed Lohani as the Chairman of Railway Board after A K Mital had tendered his resignation following two derailments within a span of five days.

"Mr A K Mittal as Chairman Rail Board demits office. Wishing him well in his future endeavours,good happy life. He had a distinguished career," he tweeted.
Prabhu had yesterday posted a series of emotional tweets after his meeting with the prime minister.
"In less than three years as Minister, I have devoted my blood and sweat for the betterment of the Railways," he said.
"I am extremely pained by the unfortunate accidents, injuries to passengers and loss of precious lives. It has caused me deep anguish," he said.
