Doctors at a Primary Health Centre here have removed three surgical gloves from the abdomen of a 26-year-old woman, which was "left" after a Cesarean at a government hospital here nearly two months back.
The woman underwent Cesarean and delivered a baby girl at the Government Hospital here on Jun 24 and was discharged after two days.
On returning home, she complained of stomach pain, indigestion and constipation. On August 17, the woman noticed a surgical glove in her stool and she was immediately taken to the PHC at nearby Sundakudi, where the doctors surgically removed the three gloves after 53 days, hospital sources said today.

Officials said an inquiry had been ordered into the "negligence" of the doctors, who performed the Cesarean at the government hospital.
The condition of the woman was stable and she would be discharged within a few days, they said.
