In order to curb the practices of illegal termination of pregnancy and female foeticide, surprise inspection of chemist shops was undertaken today in Faridabad.
On the direction of Faridabad Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar Agrawal, Drug Control Officer Rakesh Choker carried out surprise inspection of medical stores in different areas of the city.
After the inspection, all the chemists were called in for a meeting where they were advised not to sale any MTP (Medical Termination of Pregnancy) kit to any person without proper prescription.
They were also asked to maintain record of these kit.
The chemists were warned that those selling the kit without prescription in violation of the Drug Control Act would be prosecuted accordingly.
