Surprise rains towards end of the season's hottest day

Delhi received light to medium rains a little after 4 PM when residents had sweated it out the whole day due to scorching heat.

The maximum temperature was recorded at 42.6 degrees Celsius, which is three degrees above normal for this time of the season, while the minimum was recorded at 27.4 degrees Celsius, which is two degrees above normal.

The MeT office has predicted a slightly less hotter day tomorrow with the minimum and maximum temperature to hover around 40 and 29 degrees Celsius.

There is the possibility of rains tomorrow as well, the MeT office said.
