Naxals today allegedly killed one of their former colleagues who had surrendered before police in Chhattisgarh's insurgency-hit Kanker district.

Karu Dugga, a former Naxal, was killed near his house at Barda village under Pakhanjore police station limits, a local police official said.

The village is around 300 km from Raipur.

As per the preliminary information, Dugga, who had surrendered last year, was attacked with sharp-edged weapons by a group of five Naxals who left him dead on the spot, the official said.

A police team was rushed to the spot and further details were awaited, he added.

Naxals had killed another surrendered rebel, Manau Ram, in Amabeda police station area of Kanker district for 'being a police informer' in March 2016.
