The forest department has installed surveillance cameras at six places to watch the movement of wild animals especially tigers and leopards in the busy Thimbam forest road.
The cameras have been installed near water tanks, falls and bushes, forest department officials said.
Officials said leopards and panthers have been sighted on the Ghat road and few days ago a man was mauled by a panther. Two-wheeler drivers have been asked to travel during dawn-to-dusk.
Three elephants have also been seen roaming in the area, officials added.
