The survey in the state would commence on December 12, an official spokesman said here today.
He said the objective behind this survey is to provide basic education to all the out-of-school-youth in the state.
The Punjab Government is committed to provide free and compulsory education to all the children up to class-VIII, the spokesman said adding, during the survey, the teams of Education Department would go in "all the distant and de-marginalised areas like brick-kilns, railway stations, slums and the inhabitations of migrant labourers".
The information collected through the survey would be incorporated in the annual report of the year 2012-13 of the state government, he added.
