Sushil Modi calls for IT use to counter Bihar's problems

Inaugurating a mega IT meet for the first time in Bihar, Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi today exhorted experts to use IT to find solution to problems of flood, enhance farm production and improve delivery system in different sectors in the state.

Modi inaugurated the two-day 'Hackathon''at BIT Mesra campus here.

More than 110 IT teams from across the country, including those from IIT and IIM are participating in the September 13-14 event.

"Youths, through use of IT, should come out with solution to recurring floods in Bihar, as how to enhance farm production and improve delivery system in different sectors," Sushil Modi said.

He said the state government would make available Rs 2 lakh capital to youths coming up with a startup.

Modi asserted that in coming days Bihar would not lag behind any other state in the field of IT. The industry would be developed in such a way that the youths need not go out of Bihar, he added.

Secretary, IT department, Rahul Singh and Director of BIT Mesra V K Singh also addressed the meet.
