Sushil Modi hints at strong opposition to FDI in retail

Decision would be taken soon with respect to a letter written by the Centre on the issue of FDI. "We expect an early decision by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on this," he told newsmen here.

Modi, who also holds the finance portfolio, said both allies of NDA -- JD(U) and BJP -- were opposed to FDI in multi-brand retail sector.

"FDI in retail will render more than four crore people jobless in Bihar," he said, adding that both the parties have been objecting to FDI in retail.
