A suspected burglar was arrested today for his alleged involvement in a string of house break-ins in various areas in the city, police said.
Mallareddy Venkatesh, a history-sheeter and ex-convict, has allegedly committed six house break-ins and lifted three motorcycles since last December, they said.
According to ADCP (Crime) S. Varadaraju, Venkatesh was allegedly involved in around 17 such cases and had also served a jail sentence.

Police recovered about 215 grams of gold ornaments, three motorcycles, four laptops and one Nikon DSLR camera with lenses from Venkatesh.
Police also arrested his associates, identified as Thimmapathi Prasad and Munni Muniraju.
