Suspected extremist Hyder Ali, arrested for alleged attempt to murder Hindu outfit leaders and involvement in bomb blasts, was today granted conditional bail by a special court here.
Judge Suresh Vishwanathan of Special Court for Bomb Blasts cases granted bail to Ali on condition that he should surrender his passport and sign twice a day at a particular police station here.
Arrested on June 2 in Palakkad in Kerala by Tamil Nadu CB-CID police after being at large for over two decades, Ali had been remanded in judicial custody and lodged at the central prison here. He was sent to two days CB-CID custody till June 12 by the court for interrogation.
Ali was wanted by police in connection with various cases, including the bomb blast at the RSS office in Chennai in 1993, which killed 11 persons, and attacks on different Hindu outfit leaders.
