A man, who is suspected to have links with terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and who was interrogated for over six hours here yesterday by National Investigation Agency (NIA) sleuths, was issued a notice today, asking him to appear before an SP of the agency in New Delhi on December 4.

Akhtar Hussain Khan (48), who had stayed in Dubai and other places for over a decade, has been roped in as a witness in connection with a November 27 case lodged by the NIA, pertaining to the arrest of an LeT terrorist from Lucknow.

The NIA notice, issued under section 160, CrPC by NIA SP Shantanu Sinha of Kolkata asked Khan to appear before NIA SP Ajit Singh in Delhi for answering certain questions related to the case.

"You are requested to appear at the NIA headquarters in New Delhi on December 4, 2017 at about 1100 hrs," the notice read.

Khan was yesterday taken into custody by a six-member NIA team from his rented house on the outskirts of the city.

He was interrogated by the NIA sleuths at the district police headquarters here for over six hours and released from the custody at night, the police said.

The NIA team has seized certain documents and Khan's mobile phone from the latter's house, they added.

Khan's family members and neighbours claimed that they had no knowledge about his links with any terrorist organisation.
