The commandos retaliated by opening fire in which one of them was killed on the spot, they said, adding that the other escaped under cover of darkness.
A 9mm pistol and a grenade were recovered from the spot, they said, adding that the body has been sent to the Regional Institute of Medical Science and Hospital here for post mortem.
Over 80 militants have so far been killed in various encounters with security and police personnel this year at different places in the state.
