A suspected NDFB(S) militant was arrested in Assam's Jorhat district, a police officer said here today.
Acting on a tip-off, policemen nabbed the militant from Mariani area near Assam-Nagaland border last night, Jorhat Superintendent of Police Amanjeet Kaur said.
Police recovered a 9 mm pistol, six cartridges, two magazines, two mobile sets, several documents and a bike from his possession.
He was identified as Rocky Basumatary hailing from Gohpur in Sonitpur district, the SP said.
During interrogation, Rocky said he was going to Mon in Nagaland and from there was scheduled to go to Myanmar for training.
According to intelligence sources, a new training base has been set up in Myanmar where fresh recruits to the outfit would be trained from next month.
