The DVAC had submitted its final report regarding the case before the Court of Special Judge for Cases under Prevention of corruption Act.
After the report was received, the Special Judge on October 8 issued summons to Sait directing him to appear before the Judicial Magistrate, Ponneri, on 28th October.
Sait challenged the issue of summons maintaining that he, being an officer governing All India service Rules, a statutory sanction was required for the prosecution of him under the Provisions of Section 19 of PCA from Union of India.
