Suspended cop wanted in MPPEB scam surrenders

A suspended police officer, who was on the run for last six months as Special Task Force probing Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board's (MPPEB) PMT scam was after him, has surrendered before the STF.

Suspended Gwalior City Superintendent of Police Ramrakshpal Singh Yadav, was on the run after STF booked a case against him for allegedly getting his son selected in PMT-2012 examination by using unfair means, the probing agency sources said today.

Yadav reached STF office yesterday and surrendered before the probing agency.

STF had also announced a reward of Rs 10,000 against him, the sources said.

Yadav had got his son Ajit Yadav selected in the PMT exam allegedly through unfair means by paying a hefty amount to a gang involved in the scam, the STF said.
 

The police official will be produced before a court today for further action.
