Suspended IPS Officer R K Shivhare, who is an accused in Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) case, today surrendered here at the office of Special Task Force (STF).

The STF had announced a reward of Rs 3,000 against Shivhare, who was posted as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) but absconded after the probe agency registered a case against him and directed him to appear before it.

Later, he was suspended and was evading summons.

Shivhare is an accused in pre-post graduate exam for post-graduate courses in the medical stream in which his daughter and son-in-law (both medical students) were already named as accused, police sources said.

Besides, he was also allegedly involved in the irregularities in the recruitment of subedar or sub-inspector and platoon commander examination of 2012 conducted by the MPPEB.

STF officials are questioning Shivhare on the issue and will produce him in a court tomorrow, sources said.
