A lawyer and a few relatives of Kumar came from Chennai and produced the copy of the bail order to the Jail Superintendent in the afternoon, police said.
Kumar was arrested on charges of taking bribe to hush up the case, when he was IG West Zone, and also for alleged abduction of a woman director of Tirupur-based Pazee which had allegedly cheated investors of over Rs.800 crore.
The Madras High Court granted him conditional bail yesterday.
