Suspended IPS officer Amitabh Thakur today sought time from Vigilance Director, Bhanu Pratap Singh for presenting his facts in the FIR registered against him under Prevention of Corruption Act.

"I have sought time from the Director to present facts. I have also sought report of the secret and open enquiry conducted against me by Vigilance establishment along with the copy of the Lokayukta report and DM Lucknow letter mentioned in the FIR," he said.

He said he was always willing to cooperate in the investigation and requested that the investigation should not be carried in the same hurried and one-sided manner in which the open enquiry was conducted.

An FIR was lodged against Thakur on September 16 by Vigilance Establishment, at Gomti Nagar police station under Prevention of Corruption Act for amassing assets beyond his known sources of income.

The officer had earlier trashed as "a bundle of lies" the FIR lodged against him by vigilance department saying it did not give any detail of his so-called properties.
