Suspended jailor booked for hindering guards from discharging

Thane Central Jail Superintendent under suspension Hiralal Jadhav was booked for allegedly obstructing jail sepoys from doing discharging their duties, police said today.

Thane Police PRO Sukhada Nagar said An offence under Indian Penal Code section 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty) was lodged against Jadhav last night by Thane Nagar police station based on a complaint by jail sepoy Sharad Shaikh.

Complaintant Shaikh stated that while he was on guard duty at the main entrance of Central Jail at about 1.50 pm on Thursday along with others, Jadhav approached them and started threatened them and also jostled with them. He then forced open the main gate and entered into the premises along with 35-40 people in six cars.
 

Jadhav, thus obstructed the duty of the sepoys deployed at the main entrance, the complainant further said.

He was suspended in August after a woman constable at the jail accused the officer of molestating her.
