A judicial officer, who had reportedly gone into depression after his suspension following a complaint by a woman employee, was admitted to a hospital here as his condition deteriorated due to an overdose of sleeping pills, police said today.

The judicial officer, Pratap Singh Malik, had gone into depression following his suspension last week by the Delhi High Court in connection with charges levelled against him by a woman employee of Dwarka court.

Malik was posted as additional district judge at the Dwarka court at the time of his suspension. He lives with his wife and daughter at Karkardoom court complex.

His wife and daughter also allegedly consumed sleeping pills but were safe as they vomited it out. A suicide note allegedly written by him was recovered from his house, sources said.

Doctors at Hedgewar hospital, where he was admitted last night, said his condition was stable.

"We are yet to record Malik's statement," said a senior police officer.
