A man today killed two of his neighbour's children by slitting their throats over alleged superstition in the Sarsaighat area here.

Police said, Rajesh Majhi thought that his neighbour Tinku Pal, who hailed from Bihar, was practising black magic which had killed his seven of his children.

Majhi's seventh child died yesterday and in a fit of rage he pounced on Tinku's two children, Sahil (7) and Kartik (5) who were playing in a nearby field. After slitting their throats with a knife, Rajesh tried to get hold of Tinku's third son Golu, but the boy fled, police said.

As panic gripped the neighbourhood, police arrived on the scene and arrested Rajesh Majhi from the spot along with the blood-stained knife.
