A woman who suspected her husband's fidelity allegedly got him killed by contract killers but all of them were caught when they were out to dispose the body at Gang Nahar in Ghaziabad last night.

Their 'foolproof' plan was busted when a police team which had stopped them for random checking spotted beard on a person draped in burqa.

"The Muradnagar police in neighbouring Ghaziabad detained three persons last night as they were transporting a body draped in a burqa to dispose it in Gang Nahar. The trio tried to misguide a police team that intercepted them but failed to do so," said Deputy Commissioner (East) Ajay Kumar.

On probe, the male body inside the burqa was identified as that of Dilshad and the trio accompanying it were Maujuddin and his wife Habiba and a contract killer Noor Mohammad.

The Muradnagar police later informed their counterparts at Jagatpuri police station who arrested Rabiya, Dilshad's wife who spilled the beans during investigation revealing that she suspected that her husband Dilshad was in an illicit relationship with a woman, police said.

"She shared her doubts with Habiba and her husband and they planned to hire the contract killer who was paid Rs 10,000 in advance for killing Dilshad.

"On the night of February 23, she gave milk laced with sleeping pills to her husband and called her three accomplices who then killed him by strangulation and took his body to Gang Nahar for disposal," he said.

The police recovered sleeping pill wrappers and clothes used for strangulation. The car used for disposal of the body was also recovered, Kumar added.
