Suzlon jumps over 5% after co posts profit in Sep qtr

Suzlon Energy's scrip today went up by over 5 per cent after the company posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 237.62 crore for the second quarter ended September.

The stock of the renewable energy firm rose 5.29 per cent to end at Rs 15.33 on BSE. During the day, it gained 10.92 per cent to Rs 16.15.

On NSE, it advanced by 5.15 per cent to close at Rs 15.30.

In terms of volume, 171.98 lakh shares of the company were traded on BSE and over 6 crore at NSE during the day.

Suzlon Energy has posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 237.62 crore for the second quarter of 2016-17 on higher sales.
 

The company had reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 201.66 crore for the quarter ended September 2015, Suzlon Energy said in a BSE filing.

Total income from operations increased to Rs 2,752.12 crore in the second quarter of this fiscal from Rs 1,749.04 crore in the year-ago period, it said.
