State Vigilance Commission has said it has detected "irregularities" committed in the Jammu Development Authority by its former Vice-Chairpersons who allegedly caused "huge loss" to the government exchequer for their own benefit.
"SVC has detected irregularties by former VCs with regard to allegations of the purchase of machinery without inviting tenders, violation of norms prescribed for regularization of plots, construction of hotel and banquet hall on prime state land by private parties in Jammu," a spokesperson said.
SVC which has summoned the relevant records and information, is examining the alleged malpractices and irregularities committed in the organisation in various cases during past several years, he said.

The Commission had examined the allegations levelled and directed the JDA to furnish relevant records and information, he said.
"The report submitted by JDA prima facie revealed a series of omissions and commissions on part of the officials of JDA including changing allotment of plots from one colony to another without chargingdifferential amount and non cancellation of illegal allotments resulting in huge loss to Jammu Development Authority," the spokesperson said.
