SVC directs JK govt to submit report on malpractices by former

The State Vigilance Commission (SVC) has directed Jammu and Kashmir government to submit action taken report (ATR) in connection with malpractices and other irregularities, allegedly committed by a former additional Resident Commissioner in New Delhi.

The State Vigilance Commission, while taking serious view of the dereliction and misuse of official position on the part of said senior officer, has directed the Commissioner Secretary, General Administration Department to submit action taken report on next date of hearing, SVC Spokesman said today.

SVC while taking cognizance of a complaint sought report from Principal Secretary Hospitality and Protocol Department, regardingmal-administration and other illegalities committed by the former Additional Resident Commissioner, New Delhi, with the active patronage of higher authorities who instead of initiating required legal and Departmental Action "downplayed loss" to the State Exchequer, he said.
 

The report furnished by the Department of Hospitality and Protocol, prima-facie revealed that the then Additional Resident Commissioner, New Delhi, by overstepping his powers and authority had "misappropriated" the Government money at large by "dishonestly" drawing an amount of Rs 6,24,262 as electrical charges for his residential accommodation, fuel drawn for his private vehicle to the tune of Rs 1,22,689 and other funds for his personal affairs, he said.
