SVO books 5 revenue officials for fraud in J-K

The State Vigilance Organisation (SVO) has registered a case against five officials of a revenue department, including a Tehsildar, for illegally preparing mutation of land in favour of an individual at Channi Rama area in Jammu.

The SVO has registered cases against Shabir Ahmed, Fida Hussain, SarwarLone, Ravinder Kumar (Tehsildar) and one Deepak Singh for illegally issuing the mutation of land, an SVO spokesman said.

He said that the verification conducted by vigilance organisationinto the compliant of Sarabjit Singh has disclosed that the concerned revenue officials in connivance with the beneficiary by abusing their official position fraudulently prepared and issued illegal papers of land.
 

The land was already sold to different persons prior to the issuance of illegal papers in favour of the beneficiary, he said.

He said that a case has been registered and investigation has been taken up by the SVO.
