The State Vigilance Organisation (SVO) today conducted preliminary probe into fake relief cases at Relief Commissioner's office after receiving complaints.
A team of officials from the SVO arrived at the Relief Commissioner's office and seized records of some relief cases against which the SVO had received complaints, a senior SVO official said.
There were complaints that some Kashmiri Pandit migrants were illegally drawing monthly relief and some officials, including one officer in the Relief Commissioner's office, were involved in it, he said.
Jammu and Kashmir government pays monthly relief to families of displaced Kashmiri Pandits who are not government employees.
