The State Vigilance Organisation (SVO) today filed charge sheet against a former deputy general manager of Jammu and Kashmir Projects Construction Corporation (JKPCC) here for raising huge assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Separately, the SVO also filed a charge sheet in the court of special judge anti-corruption against ten people, including five revenue officials, for changing the possession of over six acres of government land, a spokesman of the anti-corruption body said.
He said a case under prevention of corruption act was registered against former deputy general manager of JKPCC Suresh Kumar Rekhi in 2013 for misusing his official position and earning huge amount of money through illegal means by way of commission from contractors and suppliers by even compromising the quality of work.
Secret verification conducted into the allegations has revealed that Rekhi by indulging in corrupt and illegal practices has amassed wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income, the spokesman said.
He said the charge sheet was filed in the court of special judge anti-corruption Jammu against the Rekhi and his wife Kumud Rekhi upon the conclusion of the investigation.
In another case registered in 2012 following allegation of selling of over six acres of government land at Gharota area of Jammu, the spokesman said the charge sheet was filed against four revenue officials and five beneficiaries.
The verification conducted into the allegations of selling of Shamlat (government) land in excess from the share of the beneficiaries at Village Gharota revealed that five revenue officials, one of whom had now expired, revealed that they misused their official positions and with ulterior motive issued 14 numbers of revenue extracts by disproportionately changing the possession of 49 kanals (6.12 acres) of Shamlat Land in favour of five local residents.
