Swabhimaanya, an Authentication User Agency (AUA) with the UIDAI, has developed an app 'TrustID' to help consumers authenticate identities and run background checks of potential employees.

The app helps users verify the identity of people they interact with like auto/cab drivers, maids, plumbers, fitness trainers, babysitters as well as other corporate hires by using basic details like name, gender and date of birth and Aadhaar ID.

"We are making those people, who were strangers so far, a lot more accountable. Once people start becoming more accountable, overall levels of trust in our society are bound to improve," Swabhimaanya CEO Rahul Pagare told PTI.

The company expects to see 5 lakh transactions by March next year, driven by usage from consumers as well as the enterprise segment.

"We aim to earn revenue up to Rs 1 crore by March 2016, from retail as well as B2B segments and are positive about growing up to Rs 10 crore by next fiscal from this service," he added.

"We have also added an in-built security feature of sharing the details of any Insta ID Check with pre-registered emergency contact numbers over SMS. This enables an user to inform their loved ones about their transaction with any service professional," he said.

The first 5 Insta ID checks are free, while the following checks will be available for Rs 5 onwards.

TrustID also lets users rate the professionals for reference of all future users of that service professional, being checked via TrustID.

"We expect to receive high traction from all major metro cities including Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad and Pune, and other cities with high levels of migrant population, catering to day to day service needs," he added.

During pilots, B2B segment showed special interest, specifically in Aadhaar based authentication module for various needs like ID based verification/attendance in remote areas, Pagare said.
