'Swachh Bharat' a people's movement: Javadekar

Describing the government's 'Swachh Bharat' campaign as a people's movement, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar today said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has shown the world his commitment to a clean India through public's participation.

"Clean India is peoples' movement. It is of the people, by the people, for the people," he said after administering the pledge of Swachh Bharat Mission to the officials and staff of his Information and Broadcasting Ministry here.

"Prime Minister Narendra Modi has shown the world our commitment to clean India through people's participation," the minister added.

Lyricist and writer Prasoon Joshi, singer Kailash Kher and music director Vishal Khurana were among those who participated in the pledge ceremony.
 

Javadekar on the occasion also released the audio track "Swachh Bharat ka irada kar liya hum ne", which has been composed by Joshi.

Officials said the song was especially composed for the Swachh Bharat Mission and that too in a very short span of time. A section of the track was played at the India Gate ceremony graced by Modi earlier this morning.

A special song composed by Song and Drama Division was also performed live during the pledge-taking ceremony.

The Minister along with senior officials took part in the cleaning drive at the premises of Shastri Bhawan.
