An exhibition on '19th Century Swadeshi Art in Bengal', curated by artist Ashit Paul, is underway at Victoria Memorial till June 17.
Initially the museum authorities had decided to host the exhibition till the middle of May, but in view of public interest the date has been extended till June 17, except Mondays and June 16, Secretary and Curator Dr Jayanta Sengupta said.
The exhibition in the Central Hall gallery was thrown open for public on April 13.
Woodcuts, woodblocks and lithographs, curated by Paul, are among the exhibits.
The exhibits -- also including illustrations, advertisements, lithograph prints, illustrations of gods and goddesses in almanacs -- reflect the social life of the period, Paul said.
