The Ministries of Culture and Tourism will now be housed together in a swanky new complex to be constructed in the heart of the national capital, in a bid to bring in better coordination among the two.
"The Culture and Tourism Ministries will be together in the coming times. There are many linkages between the two ministries. There are discussions between the two ministries regarding various issues and projects. Hence, the move will lead to better coordination," Union Minister Mahesh Sharma, who holds both Culture and Tourism portfolios, said.
The Tourism Ministry offices would be "completely" placed in the new building which will also house the "main offices" of the Culture Ministry, he said.
