Swaraj Abhiyan today staged a protest at Jantar Mantar here demanding justice for 31-year- old railway engineer Saurabh Kumar, who was found dead at his residential quarters in Kharagpur under mysterious circumstances.

Abhiyan leaders Yogendra Yadav and Professor Anand Kumar addressed protestors and ured them to raise their voices against injustice and corruption. "Corrupt rail mafia" was behind Kumar's death, they alleged.

Yadav said the fight was important so that it sends a strong message to those who have entered into a "nexus with the corrupt mafia" in the country and think "that can get away with anything."

Kumar said that Swaraj Abhiyan would be writing letters to the Union Railway Minister, Home Minister and the West Bengal Chief Minister to demand impartial inquiry into the death.

"The Indian Railways union also extended their support and vowed to put pressure on the ministry. A delegation of the railwaymen's union stated that they stand hand-in-hand with Swaraj Abhiyan to further the cause of justice," a statement said.

The decomposed body of Sourabh Kumar Rao, a purchase officer of railways store department in Kharagpur, was found on September 22 after police broke into the quarters following complaints by locals that foul smell was emanating from there.
