Swaraj Abhiyan on Wednesday accused the Delhi government of keeping mum on the concerns raised by it over alcoholism in the city and said its leader Prashant Bhushan will hold a public hearing against liquor stores at Kotla Mubarakpur in south Delhi on Thursday.
Swaraj Abhiyan said the Delhi government has been silent so far on the issue, it said in a statement.
It claimed that RTI documents revealed that over 58 new liquor stores have opened and the revenue generated from sale of liquor has almost doubled in the tenure of Aam Aadmi Party government.
"The Alcohol Prohibition Board under the Delhi government has spent only Rs 7.76 lakhs on advertisements and other promotional material for which no details are available with the government," the statement said.
