Swaraj holds bilateral meetings with counterparts from Ghana, Ecuador and Venezuela in Baku

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj today held bilateral meetings here with her counterparts from Ghana, Ecuador and Venezuela and discussed issues of mutual interest and ways to strengthen cooperation.

Swaraj met Foreign Minister of Ghana Shirley Ayokor Botchwey, her counterpart from Ecuador Maria Fernanda Espinosa and Foreign Minister of Venezuela Jorge Arreaza on the sidelines of the NAM Ministerial Meeting in Azerbaijan's capital.

She discussed with Ayokor issues related to capacity building, trade & investment, developmental assistance and cooperation in multilateral fora.

"EAM @SushmaSwaraj met her counterpart from Ecuador Ms Maria Fernanda Espinosa and discussed bilateral and multilateral cooperation," External Affairs Ministty spokesperson Raveesh Kumar tweeted.

 

With her Venezuelian counterpart, she exchanged views on strengthening bilateral relations, specially in trade & investment, agriculture, pharma and people-to-people ties.

She also had brief interactions with her counterparts from Iran, Nepal, Libya and Deputy Minister of South Africa.

Swaraj also met members of the Indian diaspora in Baku and complemented them for their important role in promoting India in Azerbaijan and strengthening India-Azerbaijan relations.
