Sweden's royal palace says Princess Sofia has given birth to a healthy child. Marshal of the Realm Svante Lindqvist announced the birth in a brief statement today that didn't reveal the sex of the child.
"Both mother and child are in good health," Lindqvist said.
The baby, born in Danderyd's hospital outside Stockholm, is the first child of Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia and is fifth in the line of succession. The couple got married last year.
