Sweeper kills college manager over suspension

Angry over his suspension, a sweeper today attacked a college manager and principal with knives, leading to the manager's death.

The incident took place this morning at Chandrashekhar inter-college here, police said.

According to police officials, the college's manager Surajbali Goyal (65) and principal Sharanveer Singh (45) were seated in their office when the accused Santosh along with his son barged in and attacked Goyal with knives.

Singh was also attacked when he tried to stop the two accused, they added.

Goyal died while being taken to a district hospital, while Singh is undergoing treatment, they said.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that Santosh was suspended by the college manager on the account of carelessness, due to which he was upset with him, they added.
 

Efforts are on the nab the two accused who are absconding, police said.

Angry over the incident, the teachers' union have threatened to go on strike if the accused is not nabbed soon.
