The national award winning director was dubbing for his yet-to-be-released film when Kareena surprised Madhur with a birthday cake with all the crew yesterday.
"I am either working or out on a family trip on my birthday. It was very sweet of Bebo (Kareena) to give me this birthday surprise," Madhur Bhandarkar said.
Its a pleasant coincidence with the team of 'Heroine' that the first day of the shoot began with actor Arjun Rampal's birthday and the film will release on Kareena's birthday.
Kareena plays the part of a superstar Mahi, in 'Heroine' and it showcases the various phases of an actress' life from a glamorous high life to a tragic downfall.
The film produced by UTV Motion Pictures and Bhandarkar Production's releases on September 21.
