Swine flu cases have come down in West Bengal in the last few weeks with only stray cases being reported now, a senior official of the Health Department said today.

West Bengal Principal Secretary (Health and Family Welfare) Moloy Dey told PTI that only stray cases of swine flu were reported in the last few weeks.

"We have reports of a few stray cases of swine flu in West Bengal. Even there is no report of any serious case. So we believe there is nothing to worry about the disease anymore," Dey said.

Meanwhile, two persons tested positive for swine flu today, taking the total number of people infected with the disease across West Bengal to 476 since January, Dey said.

The toll, however, remained 25 as no fresh death was reported from anywhere in the state in the last 24 hours, he said.

Since last evening, five swine flu patients were discharged from hospitals after they recovered from the disease completely, Dey said.

A total of 420 patients have recuperated this season, he said, adding currently 31 people were being treated for the disease in the state.
