Swine flu claims 4 lives in Rajasthan in seven days

A 38-year-old woman died of swine flu here, taking the toll of the disease-related deaths to four in the New Year, a state health official said today.

Anju Maheshwari of Tonk district was admitted to a private hospital where she succumbed to H1N1 virus yesterday, the medical and health official said.

Seven more swine flu positive patients were under treatment in various hospitals here, he said.

With the death of a 45-year-old man yesterday, Jaipur has reported three swine flu deaths while and Kota has reported one.

Extreme cold weather conditions or fluctuating temperature were the possible causes of swine flu disease in parts of the state, the official said.
