Swine flu death toll in Indore reaches nine

With the confirmation of swine flu in two more cases, the number of deaths caused by the H1N1 virus here in the new year today reached nine here.

Dr Sanjay Dixit, the dean of government-run MGM Medical College here, said a 23-year-old woman and a 55-year-old man had died during treatment at MY Hospital here on February 2.

The reports of their swab samples, received today, confirmed that they had swine flu, Dixit said.

Meanwhile, a 35-year-old woman from Khachraod in Ujjain district, who had showed the symptoms of swine flu, today died at the hospital, but the report of her swab sample was yet to come.
 

A total of 22 confirmed cases of swine flu have been reported here this year.
